Why Tom Brady’s Performance Against The Buccaneers Was Overrated

On Thursday night the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took on the New England Patriots and the Bucs received a shellacking. The Pats would end up winning 31-14 and after the game all the praise was directed at Tom Brady for his performance, which I think has been overrated. Now mind you that Brady did threw for 118 yards, against a mix of second stringers and maybe one or two first stringers.

Brady also threw for two touchdowns one coming against the second string, and led two more scoring drives which were both against the second string. Now I’m not saying that Tom Brady sucks or the Patriots weren’t the better team, because clearly they were, but don’t give all the credit to Brady who didn’t really do anything special.

A few plays had to be accredited to a Bucs defense that looked exhausted midway through the first quarter. The Bucs defense was clearly not ready to play and looked lost on many plays, especially on third down where they could not get a stop to save their life. Brady did lead one drive against the first team defense that was pretty good, but the way people are talking about Brady is like he just secured himself the MVP, this is still the pre season people.

Are you going to tell me that all players perform at 100% in the pre season? I don’t think so, they know that if they do they might suffer injuries that could cost them games or even the entire regular season. Brady was clearly revved up to play, considering that he sat last week, and showed that right from the start. At times Brady even ran a no huddle to quicken the pace and tire out the Bucs D, which ultimately worked out very well. Fans should just take a deep breath, relax, and wait for the regular season to come around to start going nuts about all of Brady’s starts.

3 Rants to “Why Tom Brady’s Performance Against The Bucc...”

  1. GingerKid2000 says:

It’s sad when the Bucs players that were on the field could admit how good Brady actually performed while some Cheeto eating loser with a computer and an opinion can’t.

  2. Daniel says:

Just give credit where it is due already. Nobody said he just secured the MVP award but you. The fact is while every other team’s offense has looked sloppy, the Patriots’ offense led by TOM BRADY looked in midseason form and picked up right where it left off. You’re obviously bitter about something, try not to make it so obvious. I swear you sound like a kid who just lost a game of Madden and is making excuses.

  3. Joshua Casey says:

No I’m not bitter about anything, I did say that Brady is a dominant QB and that the perfromance was good. All I’m saying is that the way ESPN and other bigname sports shows talk about the peformance is like it was the greatest QB performance ever. All day friday on ESPN all I heard was how great Brady’s performance is and everyone better look out for him and it’sjust a pre season game. He’ll most likely end up winning the AFC again but all I’m saying is let’s not blow it out of proportion just yet. And again everyone has their own opinion that’s how I felt about the game and that’s how you feel and I respect that.
