Rant-O-Matic: Previewing St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants, Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears

Here’s the latest edition of Rant-O-Matic for October 22, 2012:

St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants

After plenty of excitement over the first six games, it comes down to Game 7 of the NLCS between the Cardinals and Giants to determine who will represent the National League in the 2012 World Series. So far this postseason, San Francisco is 5-0 in elimination games–winning the last two games in the series and allowing just one run to St. Louis.

Kyle Lohse will take the mound for the Cardinals as he looks to continue his success in San Francisco (3-1 all time) while the Giants will rely on Matt Cain–who happened to pitch Game 5 of the NLDS against the Cincinnati Reds and only allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings.

This series has been exciting so far and it should be interesting to see which team advances to represent the National League in the 2012 World Series.

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears

This season may not have started the way the Lions were hoping it would, but they’re looking for their second-straight win on Monday against the Bears after an impressive win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. Unfortunately, that may not be as easy as Chicago has one of the top defenses in the NFL that has recorded five touchdowns so far this season.

Of course, the main factor in this one will be whether or not Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall can continue the recent chemistry from the last few weeks. In this key NFC North matchup, don’t be surprised if Chicago comes out on top in this one.
