Philip Rivers Deserves to be NFL MVP

Philip Rivers has done more with less than any other quarterback in the NFL this season and he – not Peyton Manning – should be this year’s MVP.

Rivers put on an absolute clinic during the San Diego Chargers’ roller coaster win on Sunday against one of the league’s most stout defensive units. He threw for an impressive 392 yards and three touchdowns against a Kansas City Chiefs team that was undefeated at home entering the game.

Rivers’ performance is even more remarkable when you consider that he is making no-names like Ladarius Green, Keenan Allen, and Seyi Ajirotutu look like the next great AFC receiving corps.

No disrespect to Manning, but Denver has the most impressive offensive arsenal in the league surrounding the sure-fire Hall of Famer, while Rivers has been turning water into wine all season with guys who belong on the back of a milk carton!

If Rivers can continue this insane level of play and somehow get the surprise 5-6 Chargers into the playoffs, then there is no doubt that he deserves to be this season’s Most Valuable Player.
