The #4 ranked Wisconsin Badgers (5-0) have a lot to be happy about these days. With the Badgers in the BCS National Championship talks and their starting quarterback making a case for the Heisman, there is a lot to be enamored with in Madison. The Wisconsin student section is singing a different tune, however. Most casual college football fans know about the tradition at Camp Randall Stadium by now…Between the third and fourth quarter, all of Camp Randall Stadium jumps around to House of Pain’s anthem, “Jump Around.” To be there live and in person to witness it on gameday is breathtaking to say the least. I was in awe the first time I witnessed the hysteria. It is one of the coolest and most spirited traditions in all of college athletics. Last Saturday, as the Badgers were pummeling #8 ranked Nebraska 48-17, the Wisconsin student section decided to test their vocal chords by singing “Buttercup” in front of a packed house. It is one of those moments in sports where words won’t do the moment any justice. Therefore, this video should give you a good indication if Madison is the next American Idol.
