Confirmed: Luke Hughes of the Devils Secures Spot on 2024 U.S. Men’s National Team

In recent news, USA Hockey has confirmed that Luke Hughes, the classic rookie defenseman of the New Jersey Devils, will represent the United States in the 2024 IIHF Men’s World Championship. 

The event will be held from the 10th to the 26th of May in Ostrava and Prague, Czechia. 

He is scheduled to play alongside:

  • Matt Boldy (Minnesota Wild);
  • Cole Caufield (Montreal Canadiens);
  • Joel Farabee (Philadelphia Flyers);
  • Johnny Gaudreau (Columbus Blue Jackets);
  • Luke Kunin (San Jose Sharks);
  • Dylan Larkin (Detroit Red Wings);
  • Shane Pinto (Ottawa Senators);
  • Brady Tkachuk (Ottawa Senators);
  • Trevor Zegras (Anaheim Ducks);
  • Seth Jones (Chicago Blackhawks);
  • Jake Sanderson (Ottawa Senators);
  • Alex Vlasic (Chicago Blackhawks);
  • Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets);
  • Alex Lyon (Detroit Red Wings).

On May 7th, they’ll play the Slovakians in Bratislava, Slovakia. 

The team has been in the top four of the Men’s World Championship in seven of the last ten tournaments.
