The University of Cincinnati and the entire Bearcats program received excellent news yesterday after injured quarterback Zach Collaros was a full-go at practice on Monday and said he could play in the Liberty Bowl if it was today.

Head coach Butch Jones and Cincinnati gave Collaros a full workout and even had him scrambling while attempting a number of different throws.

Collaros can still feel some pain when attempting certain throws, but with the Liberty Bowl still 11 days away, there is more than enough time to heal up a little more.

While he is a little sore after working out the ankle, that is to be expected after putting so much pressure on it in practice.

The senior quarterback is more than a month ahead of schedule and is making a remarkable recovery from a surgery that happened only five weeks ago.

Getting out on the field one last time is very important for Collaros, even though he will not be back next season.

Going out with a win and being able to play one last time with some of the guys he came into the program with and has spent the last four years so close to would mean everything for Collaros.

Backup quarterback Munchie Legaux still took some snaps with the first team offense, but for the most part, Collaros was getting the reps.

After what seemed like a 50-50 shot a week ago, it is now looking like an almost certainty that Collaros will be under center for Cincinnati barring  a major setback.

It would mean the world not only to Collaros, but to the entire Cincinnati football team if he was able to give it a go one last team and ‘Represent the C’ like he has done so admirably for the past four seasons.
