I’ve been saying this since the Bears lost to the Raiders last week; there’s absolutely no way the Bears can lose at home to the Chiefs or forget the playoffs. This is a game they have to win. Period and end of story.

By all accounts, Kyle Orton be the starting quarterback on Sunday for the Chiefs. While the Chiefs sit at 4-7, they realize that they’re in a winnable division and they need to pull out all the stops. That being said…it’s Kyle Freaking Orton. He was benched for Tim Tebow in Denver and has been with the Chiefs for less than two weeks.

While Caleb Hanie’s final numbers from last Sunday weren’t spectacular, he played much better in the second half. The Bears need to run the football with the new found Matt Forte/Marion Barber combination and not start with this throwing the ball crap. It’s just not going to work. While Hanie has some tools, this team won’t win if he passes more than they run. It’s not about style points this Sunday, it’s about winning. As much as I don’t believe it will happen, the Bears are suggesting that Jay Cutler will be ready to go by the end of the regular season. If that holds true, the Bears need to win this game and finish strong with Cutler before entering the playoffs.

I’m not too worried about Sunday. This is a tough football team that has overcome many things this year. Consider this another chance for growth.

One Rant to “Too Many Bears Not Enough Chiefs”

  1. WildcatN8 says:

time to let Martz do what he does best… if you play the screen pass like you should we are in trouble. If you try and run it down our throats then Dorsey (3rd overall) Hali (20th overall) & Jackson (5th overall) should plug the middle. Our weakness is the speed on the outside w/ our outside linebackers. If you attack the outside w/ our corners you could be in trouble as well w/ Flowers and Carr. Honestly where we are seriously deficient is on offense and that’s why we went and got Neckbeard (who from my experience seems to throw the ball around without much fear). We’ve been lacking that gunslinger spirit for about 12 weeks this season and I for one am looking forward to it.
