The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings are bad football teams. The Vikings are obviously worse. That being said, the unlucky folks that have tickets for this game, the gambling community and loyal fans like myself will be watching it today.

Without Adrian Peterson, the Vikings aren’t much of an offensive threat. It wasn’t like they were with him either. The Bears will feature quarterback Josh McCown for a second week in a row. Considering the circumstances, he played well last week against the Packers. Nathan Endlerle may see some action today as well. As a favor to us fans, I’m hoping that piece of garbage Caleb Hanie doesn’t play.

My guess is that there will be a shakeup at Halas Hall tomorrow or certainly in the next few weeks. There will be coaches relieved of their duties but I have a gut feeling this will also include members of the front office. We all know where this team was going, and for it to fall apart at the end falls squarely on the depth and personnel decisions within the organization. For a team to go winless against inferior competition cannot be forgiven. With the large amount of money saved under the cap, the Bears can use that money to buy out the appropriate parties. Here’s to hoping that happens folks.

It’s very sad that this season ended the way it did. The Bears really looked like a contender. There’s no excuses. Injuries are a part of the game and teams that are meant to win find a way to overcome these types of situations. The Bears weren’t meant to win in 2011-12. The breaks they caught last season didn’t carry over to this one. And this falls on the short-sidedness of those at the top.
