With the sad story coming out of Penn State, it brings to mind many scandals that have happened in college athletics. Most of them are not as extreme as the PSU one, but many have shaken college sports to its very core. In this list, we have compiled our top 10 scandals in college athletics. Some may surprise you, but these scandals rocked the NCAA's world at some point in time.

How do you leave out the Duke Lacrosse scandal?? When I think of college sports scandals, that is the first that comes to mind. Interested read though, Riley. I didn’t know too many details about some of the older scandals. I agree, too, this Penn State stuff is undoubtedly No. 1 and will remain that way for a while. Hopefully nothing worse EVER happens than this all.
How about the 1986 Lin Bias drug scandal at maryland univ?!!!
