VID: Saturday Night Live takes on Linsanity with “New York Sports Now”
You knew it was coming– and it was greatness.
The Saturday Night Live crew took on Linsanity to kick off tonight’s episode, taking as many media outlets to task as possible.
There was even a white member of the broadcasting team who was called out for making racist remarks about Carmelo Anthony even though the black members of broadcast team were panning on Lin.
There were takes on Jason Whitlock, ESPN, and the ridiculous New York Post and New York Daily headlines from the past few weeks.
Perfection.
Who knows if the ESPN idiocy this morning was the last straw that made SNL decide to do the skit, or if they had it planned all along.
Either way, it was timely and well done. There’s still a little comedy left in the SNL crew– it just takes the right story to bring it to the surface.
