Let me preface this post by saying I was not watching the WNBA Finals. Seriously. Thanks to awesome video guy @CJZero, we have video of Minnesota Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve going absolutely bananas after receiving a technical foul.
This might be the best coach freakout in the last couple of years. Even though it is a sport that gets no ratings, someone ended up watching. Strangely enough, I do know a decent amount of Lynx fans. I guess when you like Minnesota sports teams, you need to find one that ends winning once in a while. Yes, I just fired shots at that entire state. Learn to drive and then I’ll apologize.
Back to this video. The jacket throw made everything fit together. You do not see many coaches freaking out that badly. They might scream at the refs but they wouldn’t actually throw a jacket. I honestly hope that some NBA coaches take the hint from this and incorporate it. It would really spice up the regular season.
We will see how many people ended up watching this in real time. I have no idea what the audience for a WNBA game is. Seriously. I have no idea who goes out of their way to watch a WNBA game. I mean, you might end up falling asleep with ESPN on and a game happens to pop up before you wake up.
I hope we get a proper explanation for this in the future. Not only do I want to know how you could get that mad to throw a jacket, I want to know if that’s the strangest thing to happen in a WNBA game.
