DeMarcus Cousins Demands Trade From Sacramento Kings

After starting off the season 1-3 and getting blown out at home by the New York Knicks yesterday Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has formally requested a trade. Now many times a players trade demands can be seen coming from a mile away but this one is totally unexpected. Sacramento Kings head coach Paul Westphal said Sunday that Cousins approached him to demand a trade and that Kings management has told him to stay home and that he will not be allowed to be at the stadium for tonight’s game against the New Orleans Hornets.

Westphal’s statement is as follows,“Whenever a new season begins, in any sport, there is great hope that everything will progress in only a steady, upward direction. As we all know, it seldom happens like that in this life!As coaches, we can only ask that our players do everything they can to improve themselves as individuals and teammates. If they do this with all their hearts, we live with the results.

Everything that happens on a team does not become known to the public. This is how it should be. However, when a player continually, aggressively, lets it be known that he is unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team, it cannot be ignored indefinitely.DeMarcus Cousins has demanded to be traded. In the best interest of our team as we go forward, he has been directed by me, with the support of management, to stay home from the New Orleans game tonight.”

  1. Steven Resnick says:

    Not really shocking that Cousins has demanded a trade. The Kings are driven by Fredette and Evans and they were going to get more media attention anyways. Cousins maturity has also been a huge issue as well.

  2. Joshua Casey says:

    Yep true true. I wouldn’t want the Lakers to trade for him that’s for sure.

  3. Kevin Bonneville says:

    Pretty amazing that he hasn’t proven anything yet and he is already asking to be traded. Have to admire the gull on the guy I guess.

  4. getridofhim says:

    Might be a blessing in disguise!I don’t remember when he wasn’t a problem starter.He’s most of the problem.When one of the teams main pieces wont buy into a teams direction than you’re actually playing with four men on the floor.Any five pros can defeat four players.
    Almost glad i’m a knick fan.

  5. Joshua Casey says:

    @Kevin yeah true and he’s got a pretty big mouth too for a guy that’s never done anything.

  6. Joshua Casey says:

    @getridofhim Yeah he cause a lot of problems at Kentucky also. Yeah true true.

  7. rrtatum says:

    He has all the physical attributes to play basketball..unfortunately he lacks the mental capacity or the heart or the discipline to be a professional athlete…sad for him but should be an example for young guys aspiring to play sports. not about you……….team..team

  8. Joshua Casey says:

    @rrtatum You’re 100% correct.

  9. Dennis says:

    Cousins is a malcontent with alot of dog in him. He was born with an NBA body, tremendous athletic talent and developed a whopping sense of entitlement. He had that rep. coming out of college too but he was too much of a talent to fall too far in the draft. Time for that line you can use in every situation: It is what it is.

    Or, if he barks like a dog, chases his tail like a dog and lifts his leg like a dog, he’s a dog.

  10. CC says:

    WE’ll Take him!!! Just take the waste of flesh looser I was suckered into taking a little while back……Jermain O’Neil, and you’ve got yourself a deal.
    Signed, Danny A., The Boston Celtic G.M.

  11. Joshua Casey says:

    @CC hahaha

  12. wildkat keith says:

    As a Kentucky fan I was worried this turd would do something really stupid to make us look bad, and it almost happened many times. He is just typical of the worthless scum that is in the nba they should cut out about 10 of the teams worthless

    • Get Real says:

      Ruin Kentucky’s name are you kidding you guys rent 5 players each year that jump to the NBA after one year and you call yourselves a college program. This what I expect from rent-a-team Calliperi the criminal, well when he leaves you with NCAA violations maybe he can coach up Cousins

  13. metalarmdad says:

    Consin’s problem is he is on the wrong team. The Kings have a jackass for a coach. Send Cousin to a team like Boston who has a good coach and watch him turn into a top flight player in the NBA.
