Jeremy Lin shocked the world in his first three starts as the new Knickerbocker point guard.  “Lin-sanity” played more than 36 minutes in each game, but the most impressive number was the fact that he has led the Knicks to a 3-0 record in his first three starts.  Lin is averaging an amazing 25.3 points and 8.3 dimes per start, while he has completely reinvigorated an offense that seems stagnant without Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.

“Ivy League Lin” is from Harvard, so the fact that he picked up Mike D’ Antoni’s offensive system so quickly should not be too surprising.  The Knicks’ have some similarities with the Crimson offense making the transition even easier for the kid from Palo Alto, California.  The 23-year old continues to take smart shots from the floor, evident from his amazing 58% field goal percentage.  He is deceptively fast and knows how to finish once he gets close to the hoop; just ask Washington’s John Wall.  Lin is the obvious hot hand in the “Big Apple” and will continue to get the rock as long as he keeps knocking down jumpers.

Lin was the free agent pickup of the month for fantasy owners and is still posting huge roto-numbers on a daily basis for New York, something Stephon Marbury could not do regularly.  It is likely that Lin will not average over 20 points a game for the remainder of the season, but he certainly has potential to average a respectable 15 points and 7 assists per contest.  Lin will only mature more as he plays in the NBA, but his fantasy value is pretty much as high as it can get.

The kid has been the most talked about sports figure since Tim Tebow and is currently dominating the industry.  Big time players always earn themselves nicknames; as Dwight Howard has Superman or LeBron James has King James.  For your consideration, here some other nicknames for the new New York PG:

“Lin-sanity”

“The Lin-isher”

“L-Train”

“Ivy League Lin”

“The Lin-ter-net”

“J-Li”
