Kansas Jawhawks’ Thomas Robinson To Enter NBA Draft
Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

The man known as “T-Rob” will rock chalk his way to the NBA Draft. The Kansas superstar blossomed during his junior year after two subpar seasons. During the 2012 campaign, the Player of the Year candidate averaged 17 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal per game.

After averaging seven points and six boards in just over 14 minutes of play per night during Robinson’s sophomore year, his playing time increased over twice as much to 31 minutes a game in 2012.

No doubt the talent was always there, just ask Bill Self. However, it was more a matter of would Thomas Robinson be able to showcase it at a place like Kansas, which is loaded with annual All-Americans? Robinson not only emerged for Kansas, he exploded onto the national map and is now coveted by NBA personnel everywhere.

Robinson has the all-around game and will only get better with experience and proper coaching. I am not saying that Bill Self didn’t teach him well, but I am stating how much better Robinson will become with coaches who are focused just on making him better. Listen to Bill Self’s podcast, as he talks about T-Rob’s departure for the NBA.

T-Rob is a 6-foot, 9-inch, 237-pound forward that could play either small or power forward at the next level. He is a beast inside, but has a smooth game from the outside, giving him ample opportunities against undersized small forward’s in the NBA. Either way, he plays bigger than his size and will be a match-up nightmare with his athleticism, explosiveness and aggressiveness on the glass.
