Most fantasy baseball owners imagined that the New York Yankees would have a glaring hole at third base this season. The team’s starter Alex Rodriguez has been suspended for the entire season due to his involvement with the Biogenesis scandal and it left the team with an obvious need at the hot corner.

Luckily, another option has emerged at the hot corner in the Bonx. Journeyman infielder Yangervis Solarte has quietly matured into a reliable fantasy option and the slugger has captured the heart of the fantasy world.

Solarte currently has a robust .348 batting average to go along with a .434 On Base Percentage. He has also driven in seven runs, hit six doubles, and has quietly scored four runs.

Even better, Solarte has a very strong eye at the plate. He has struck out just six times this season and has been able to draw five walks as well. The 26-year-old has looked like a veteran in the batter’s box and has continued to climb up the team’s lineup.

Solarte has played every game for the Bronx Bombers and the youngster has become an anchor for fantasy fans. He can be plugged into various positions as well, which only adds to the Venezuelan’s overall fantasy value.

Solarte will be a reliable infielder to utilize as long as he stays in the lineup. So if you are desperate for a middle-infielder and he is still sitting on the wire, it is time to jump on the Solarte Express.
