Tight end Jace Amaro of Texas Tech has been widely considered to be the second-best TE in the 2014 NFL draft behind North Carolina Tar Heels TE Eric Ebron. It seems likely that Amaro will be selected in the second or third round, but it is also possible that he can be selected in the back end of first round if a team with a need of a TE feels he is worth the selection.

There is a lot to like about Amaro, and first and foremost is his size. He possesses the body of an oversized receiver, which fits well in most NFL systems today as teams are starting to gravitate towards pass-catching tight ends rather than strictly run-blocking ones.  Another positive factor for Amaro is that during his historical junior season at Texas Tech, he was used primarily as an inside receiver, so it is clear that he would be comfortable in a pass-catching role.

With the size and natural ability going for him, Amaro looks like he can be a productive tight end in the pros and can be viewed by fantasy football owners as a player with a lot of upside. He could be worth a bench stash on any fantasy team in 2014 if he is given the proper amount of playing time.

Amaro can be deployed as a big target over the middle with the ability to stretch plays into something bigger, which can make him a valuable fantasy asset who could be used by owners as a fantastic plug-and-play option in the 2014 fantasy season.
