Each and every fantasy baseball season owners scour the web looking for sleepers. The only problem, though, is that not every sleeper actually pans out. It may still be here, but here are five off-season fantasy baseball sleepers that have actually paid off this far into the 2014 season.

5. OF Michael Brantley, Cleveland Indians

Brantley has already driven in 18 runs through the first 21 games and the outfielder has clubbed four homers. He currently has a respectable .293 batting average, but his true fantasy value comes from the .369 OBP and his 20-20 ability. He has once again proven that he can be a reliable OF2 in deeper formats.

4. SP Yovani Gallardo, Milwaukee Brewers

Gallardo has been a workhorse for the Brew Crew throughout his career, but he seriously dropped this year after positing a 4.18 ERA in 2013. The 28-year-old is finally putting it together this season, though. He has an 1.42 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, and an undefeated 2-0 record. He has been one sleeper pick that has actually panned this year.

3. SP Alex Wood, Atlanta Braves

Wood was the number sleeper on most cheat sheets this year and he has pitched beautifully in 2014. He may have a less-than stellar 2-3 record, but he has a spotless 1.54 ERA and 0.97 WHIP. He was one mid-round starter that was worth the gamble this April.

2. 2B Chase Utley, Philadelphia Phillies

After years of health issues and subpar production, Chaser is back with a vengeance this season. He currently has an insane .391 batting average to go along with a .434 OBP. He has added three homers and 12 RBIs as well to his early season stat line. If you grabbed Utley as a late-round flyer this spring, there is no way you are disappointed so far.

1. 1B Jose Abreu, Chicago White Sox

Abreu fell outside of the top-10 first basemen this spring, but he has put up starter-quality numbers from day one. Abreu is tied for second in the AL in homers (6), second in RBIs (19), fifth in runs 915), and third in Slugging Percentage (.924). This kid is a true power-hitter and has earned his starting spot in all fantasy formats.
