The 2014 fantasy baseball season has been absolutely marred with injuries. Countless pitchers have been shutdown for the year following Tommy John surgery and it has really taken a toll on the fantasy community.

However, there have been a number of hurlers that have returned unnoticed and are likely still sitting on the waiver wire in a majority of formats. One of these forgotten stars is Tampa Bay Rays SP Jeremy Hellickson.

Hellickson underwent elbow surgery back in January and has been out of commission for months. He retuned to action last month, though, and has been rather productive since getting back on the bump. He has struck out 11 batters over his last 11 innings. He also has a glimmering  2.56 ERA on the season and has limited opposing fantasy owners to a .238 batting average.

Hellickson was once a top-tier prospect in fantasy circles, but injuries have quickly changed the league-wide opinions.  The 27-year-old still has plenty left in his arm, though, and will be looking to put in some work over the final weeks of the fantasy season.

Hellickson is only owned in 24.9% of ESPN formats at the moment. He will be a strong pickup at this point in the season and he certainly has value as a SP7 or SP8. If you need another arm, don’t be afraid to scoop up Hellickson this week for the playoff push.
