Nick Foles’ Fantasy Football Week 2 Projection Looks Promising

Philadelphia Eagles starting QB Nick Foles had fantasy owners scratching their heads in the first half of last week’s game. The third year QB out of Arizona had three total turnovers (one interception and two fumbles) and no touchdowns by the end of the second quarter. Eagles fans had all their worst nightmares coming true. Just when they thought they had finally found their franchise QB, they had to witness him give up three turnovers in two quarters against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was obvious that Foles struggled early on, but that did not stop him and the Eagles’ offense from picking up where they left off in 2013 in the second half. Foles looked like the fantasy football stud and franchise QB everyone had hoped for, throwing for 322 yards, two touchdowns and committing no turnovers. Even with the first half debacle, Foles still gave fantasy owners something to look forward to this season.

This Monday night, he and the Eagles’ high-powered offense stroll into Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts’ defense struggled tremendously last Sunday against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos’ offense. Their defensive line failed to put pressure on Manning due in part to the four-game suspension of the NFL’s reigning sack leading, Robert Mathis. This will be a factor Monday night against the Eagles. The offensive line for the Birds will be carrying their superb second half momentum over to Week 2, giving Foles tons of time in the pocket.

The fantasy outlook for Foles looks promising going into Week 2. Don’t let last week’s turnover stats detour you from making him your QB1. Foles has proven fantasy value with only four total turnovers overall last year, so last week was certainly a fluke. Expect him to target TE Zac Ertz, WR Jeremy Maclin and RB LeSean McCoy early and often. He also has RB Darren Sproles and WR Riley Cooper to utilize as well.

Foles has a favorable matchup this week, so expect another 300+ yard performance and three touchdowns to go along with it. He is a must start in your fantasy lineup.
