Weekly Fantasy Football: Top 5 QB Plays in Week 2

There were some surprising outings and results in Week 1 of fantasy football for quarterbacks. Matt Ryan broke out, but guys like Tom Brady didn't live up to par. Here are the top five QBs to put into your fantasy lineup for Week 2.

5. Andy Dalton vs. Atlanta Falcons

Dalton was solid in Week 1, but didn't light the world on fire with his play. His fantasy owners were pleased with his production because he found A.J. Green late in the game for a 50-plus-yard score, but besides that, he was pretty modest. Now in Week 2, he has a great matchup against the Falcons who just let Drew Brees throw all over them. Start Dalton with confidence in Week 2 and I expect him to produce like a solid QB1.

The Bears' secondary is nothing to fear if you are a Kaepernick owner. The Buffalo Bills' E.J. Manuel had a nice game against their secondary and led his team to an upset 23-20 victory. In Week 1, Kaepernick finished the game with two passing scores and 201 yards through the air, but he didn't need to do much because the 49ers blew out the Cowboys. Look for the dual-threat quarterback to score three times in Week 2 with 300 total yards.

Brees should be penciled into fantasy lineups every single week and when he faces the Browns, make sure you have him in there. The Browns have a solid secondary because Joe Haden is one of the best CBs in the league, but Brees can work around him. I expect the Saints to take care of business in Cleveland and Brees should continue to find success through the air.

2. Aaron Rodgers vs. New York Jets

It's hard to imagine the Packers going 0-2 to start the regular season and for that, expect Rodgers to have a big game. The Jets' secondary is not very strong and Jordy Nelson is going up against a cornerback, Antonio Allen, who is playing in his second NFL game at the position. Look for Rodgers to exploit that matchup all game long. Rodgers wasn't very good against the Seahawks' defense in Week 1, but he's going to get back on track.

Jake Locker took apart the Chiefs' defense in Week 1 and if Locker can do it, so can Manning. The future Hall-of-Fame quarterback had 269 yards passing and three touchdowns in his first game and it's a safe bet assuming he can match those numbers again against the Chiefs. Manning is a luxury if he is on your team because even on a bad day, he is still guaranteed about 20 fantasy points.
