Fantasy Football Week 11 Start or Sit: Teddy Bridgewater

The Chicago Bears‘ defense is absolutely atrocious. They have given up 106 total points and 11 passing touchdowns over their last two games. In standard scoring fantasy leagues, they’ve given up 93 total points to opposing quarterbacks over their last three outings. Two of those games were against future Hall of Fame QBs in Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, but the other was against Ryan Tannehill.

All of this bodes very well for Minnesota Vikings‘ QB Teddy Bridgewater, and he is definitely someone you should start in all leagues if you don’t have an elite fantasy QB.

Not only has the Bears’ defense been awful as of late, Bridgewater has been playing very well.  In his last two starts, he has combined to complete 50 of 84 passes for 509 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. The only negative part about his game recently is the lack of touchdowns, but the Bears have been great lately at giving those up, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Bridgewater is also coming off a bye week, so he has had an extra week of preparation to face Chicago’s embarrassment of a defense.

The Bears have given up the most fantasy points on average to opposing QBs this season. They also seem to be getting worse defensively every week. Chicago’s pass defense has given up at least one passing touchdown in every game this season, and they have given up 248 passing yards or more in every game since Week 1. In four of their nine games, opposing QB’s have thrown for over 300 yards against them. Needless to say, Bridgewater will have every opportunity to put up big numbers.

Some fantasy decisions are tough, but this is not one of them. If you don’t have an elite fantasy QB and are looking for someone to get you a guaranteed solid performance, you need to start Bridgewater. He isn’t an every week starter and probably won’t even be on your roster after this week, but he will have a great game on Sunday.
