It took an extra period, but the Philadelphia 76ers took down the streaking Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldouse in Indiana on Saturday night. The 109-106 overtime loss was only the second defeat Indiana has suffered this month, but the second time they have lost to the 76ers this season. Indiana is 4-2 in overtime games this season. The 76ers are now 1-2 in overtime games this year.

David West had his first 30-point outing as an Indiana Pacer. West, who scored over 30 points five times as a member of the New Orleans Hornets last year, led all players with 32 points scored. West also led all players with 12 rebounds in the loss. Danny Granger, who has led the Pacers in scoring all season, struggled all night long. Granger scored only four points in 40 minutes of play, shooting an ice cold 2-12 from the floor. NBA All-Star Roy Hibbert had a tough night as well, hitting only two of his 12 shots.

The game was close to going into double overtime at 109-106, when the officials called a five-second inbound violation on Paul George of the Pacers. The turnover gave the 76ers possession of the ball, which resulted in a jump ball, after the 76ers almost had a five-second turnover of their own. The 76ers got lucky, by calling a timeout and getting saved from a delay of game call, after bringing six players to the floor for the jump ball. Indiana got the jump ball, and had a last chance shot to tie the game, with 10.7 remaining in the overtime period. Danny Granger took a long three-point shot that bounced off the rim. West missed the rebound shot, and the game was over.

The 76ers are currently eighth in the NBA Playoffs Eastern Conference standings, fighting to stay alive.
