Archie says Peyton Likes His Roots in Indianapolis; Is this What Peyton wants?
Archie Manning, father of Peyton Manning came out and said that “Peyton likes his roots in Indy.” Is this a case of father knows best or is this actually what Peyton wants.
Father are the leaders of the family and children look up to him for advice and leadership, especially when a life altering decision is at hand. Such is the case with Peyton Manning. Peyton has a big decision to make over the next few months if he is healthy enough.
Will Manning stay in Indianapolis and lead the Colts just like he has since 1998 or is the future with someone else. Archie, Peyton’s father, came out and said that Peyton intends to stay in Indianapolis. However, is that really the best for Manning? The team went 2-14 without him, and the organization is in a re-building process, not exactly a perfect situation for a soon to be 36 -year-old quarterback. Was Manning such an impact player who without him the team only won two games. The Colts have an abundance of questions and the biggest one dealing with their franchise quarterback.
For a quarterback like Manning he will have plenty of options. Just a year ago he led the Colts to the playoffs so he can still play and put up numbers. In his last full season he had 4700 yards passing, 33 touchdown, and 17 interceptions. As a Colts fan, are you willing to throw a quarterback away with those numbers?
This story will progress throughout the offseason leading up to the draft in April. I am sure this is a story that will be beaten like a dead horse-no pun intended.
