The biggest and most highly publicized free agent in NFL history is making moves and taking his time. Peyton Manning has been bouncing all over the country since being released by the Indianapolis Colts last week, and his travels will continue for at least a few more days.

Manning’s camp has set up meetings to take place this week with the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans. These meetings come after Manning met with two teams last week, and after a few NFL franchises dropped out of the “Peyton Sweepstakes”. Manning first traveled to Denver, then to Arizona, to meet with the Broncos’ and Cardinals’ executives and coaches. In the midst of those meetings last week, it seems that the Washington Redskins and New York Jets have dropped out of the race for the Hall of Fame quarterback.

The Redskins traded their next three first round draft picks and their second round pick this year to the St. Louis Rams, for the number two overall pick, which is widely expected to be used on quarterback Robert Griffin III. Upon receiving word that Manning was not interested to play in the same city as his little brother, the New York Jets quickly signed current starting quarterback Mark Sanchez to a reported three-year contract extension.

NFL free agency begins on Tuesday. We can expect that much of the league’s landscape will change within the next week. As of right now, the Peyton Manning media circus will make at least two more trips before the show stops.
