Soria Badly Beaten & Bruised By Birds Of Baltimore
As Kansas City approached its series with the Orioles this week, this piece was posted on Royals Treatment regarding some red flags surrounding the effectiveness of closer Joakim Soria right now:

For the most part, it was generally disregarded by Royals fans, brushed aside with a simple ,”it’s Soria, he’s fine” – well take a look at the Tuesday night performance for the man formerly known as ‘The Mexicutioner’:
- With Danny Duffy in line for his first major-league win, Soria replaces Aaron Crow in the 9th with Kansas City leading 3-2, looking to close out the series opener and notch the save
- Retires the lead-off hitter, Mark Reynolds, with a deep fly ball out to center-field
- Allows short-stop J.J. Hardy to reach base with a double through the left side of the infield
- Pinch-hitter Felix Pie pokes a sharp-hit double down the left-field line off the umpire scoring Hardy, the tying run
- Strikes out Robert Andino on a foul tip for the second out of the inning
- Serves up a walk-off 2-run home run deep to center to Adam Jones for his third blown save of the season
Uhh… yeah, something might be wrong with Soria…
