Penn State Exodus: WR Justin Brown To Join Oklahoma Sooners
Tim Heitman-US PRESSWIRE

Another Penn State football player is on the move. Senior wide receiver Justin Brown has decided to transfer to Oklahoma to become a Sooner, confirmed the school Sunday morning.

Brown will report to the Sooners on Monday and is expected to make an impact immediately. Oklahoma returns only one wide receiver with game experience, making the addition of Justin Brown that more important. The school has lost multiple receivers due to graduation and suspensions. Second on the Penn State football team in receptions with 35 receptions, he will be asked to use his 6-foot-3 body as a weapon for both quarterback Landry Jones and the return game. The lanky wide receiver averaged 8.1 yards per return on 27 punt returns, good for 31st in the country in regards to punt return average.

Justin Brown becomes the ninth Penn State player and third starter to defect from the team after learning of the sanctions imposed on the program. Unable to play in a postseason bowl game this season, the chance to play for national championship contender, Oklahoma, was too much to pass up for the senior wide receiver.

Brown will be eligible to practice with his new team from the moment he steps foot on campus according to the NCAA sanctions. However, if Justin Brown arrives in Norman, Oklahoma later than Monday as planned, the wide receiver will have to remain idle while staying in State College. The sanctions imposed upon Penn State University state that players may transfer to any institution but cannot practice with the Nittany Lions after announcing their intentions.
