The Los Angeles Clippers made significant strides to improve their team so far this offseason. It remains to be seen if those moves will pay off and just how much.

Acquiring Lamar Odom, in Lefty’s opinion, was one of the bigger steals of the offseason. Odom was unsuccessful in Dallas but coming back to Los Angeles may be just what he needs to return to
form.  Lamar Odom has had his best seasons in Los Angeles and returns to the team that drafted him, the building he is most comfortable in, and the fans that love him.

Odom has dealt with personal issues over the past year but seems to be determined to get his career back on track. He has the opportunity to play in Staples Center and do just that. The disaster
in Dallas is over.

If the Los Angeles Clippers get the Lamar Odom who played for the Los Angeles Lakers the impact this could have for their franchise could be staggering and catapult them into position to be
the favorites to win the Pacific Division and possibly the western conference.

In Odom’s final season with the Los Angeles Lakers he averaged 14.4 points per game and nearly 9 rebounds per game.

He brings veteran championship experience to the Clippers locker room as well as another big man and one who can handle the ball.

The Los Angeles Clippers also signed free-agent forward/center, Ronny Turiaf.  Turiaf, who would enter the league with the Los Angeles Lakers and play his first three seasons there before leaving for Golden State, would win a NBA title with the Miami Heat as a key reserve off the bench.

In 2008, Turiaf had played well for the Lakers and recieved quite a bit of playing time and even the chance to start a number of games due to injuries the Lakers had suffered at the time. While
Turiaf isn’t going to put up huge stats he is a hustle type high energy player who gives 100% and leaves everything on the floor.

Turiaf could help provide the Clippers off the bench with the spark they need to take things to the next level.
