Ryan Braun Could Be Found Innocent

According to Dan Patrick, “Ryan Braun may be found innocent.”

Patrick said on his morning radio show that “somebody involved in the process,” has given him reason to believe Braun “was a victim of the testing by Major League Baseball,” and what he was tested for “was not a masking agent.”

Braun recently gave an acceptance speech in New York City Saturday night after receiving the National League Most Valuable Player award. He never directly commented on the allegations but thanked several people for being in his corner.

After ESPN’s Outside the Lines broke the story about Braun, he was quoted saying “This is B.S.” to USA Today.

There was also a statement released by a spokesman for Braun shortly after the story broke.

“There are highly unusual circumstances surrounding this case which will support Ryan’s complete innocence and demonstrate there was absolutely no intentional violation of the program. While Ryan has impeccable character and no previous history, unfortunately, because of the process we have to maintain confidentiality and are not able to discuss it any further, but we are confident he will ultimately be exonerated.”

It was reported by MLB.com writer Adam McCalvy that Braun was taking medication for a personal medical issue and that is why the test came back positive but according to Patrick’s anonymous source “that is not the case.”

“The bigger issue here is the testing and was Ryan Braun a victim of the testing by Major League Baseball,” Patrick said. “Let’s see how this plays out… The feeling I got from somebody involved in the process in this, it’s not as cut and dried as people would think. And Ryan Braun may be an innocent man.”

Braun has been a real sport throughout this entire ordeal. After ESPN’s Buster Olney and every other media outlet bashed him for disrespecting the game, he simply sat back and took it while waiting for his opportunity to explain his side of the story.

If Braun is found innocent, there are several people that will have a lot of explaining to do for how this story got leaked. Major League Baseball will never release information about something like this unless there has been an official decision made. Obviously, the arbitrators have yet to meet so therefore someone was in the wrong.

This could be great news for the Milwaukee Brewers and their fans as Braun is a crucial piece of the puzzle as the team defends their NL Central division title.
