Nostalgia: Nick Diaz vs Frank Shamrock
Carlos Condit vs Nick Diaz was supposed to be a fight of the year candidate. Instead, we got a controversial decision followed by the news that Diaz tested positive for marijuana. Of course, this has happened before. Diaz tested positive after his win over Takanori Gomi. It’s another incident in a long list of subpar moments for this talented young man from Stockton. Dana White doesn’t seem to know what to do with someone who skips press conferences and now fails drug tests. Long time fans will also remember that Diaz had to be let go from the UFC early in his career due to his bombastic behaviour.
Here’s a bit of a different look at Nick Diaz. His 1st main event at a major event was against Frank Shamrock. Diaz was up to his usual prefight and during the fight antics. However, backstage and right after the fight is stopped, you can see a very different Nick Diaz:
