Parker Kligerman will be behind the wheel of the No.22 Penske Dodge until race time at Michigan.

Kligerman filled in for Sam Hornish Jr. during Friday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice and qualifying. Hornish is in Montreal preparing for Saturday’s Nationwide Race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, where he is racing for the Nationwide Series points.

During Friday’s Sprint Cup activities Kligerman helped the No.22 team set up for the weekend at the two-mile oval. Kligerman ran in Friday’s cup practice as well as the qualifying session. During practice, the No.22 ended up eighth fastest on the charts with Kligerman behind the wheel.

After Sprint Cup qualifying was said and done, the No.22 Dodge of Penske Racing ended up in 17th  at 196.249mph.

Kligerman will continue to drive the No.22 Dodge through Saturday’s Cup practice sessions. Hornish will compete in Saturday’s Nationwide race and will remain in Montreal to race in the final road course of the year. Once Hornish finishes his duties at Montreal, he will fly to Michigan and race in the Pure Michigan 400 on Sunday.

Although Kligerman qualified the No.22 in 17th, Hornish will have to start from the back of the field on Sunday.
