5 Biggest San Antonio Spurs Free Agency Rumors Heading Into June

After dismantling the Miami Heat in dominating fashion in the 2014 NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs had a difficult road in 2015. The Spurs were never able to match the historical free-flowing offense that made their run in last year's postseason look almost too easy. As this upcoming offseason rolls around, there are several rumors swirling around San Antonio that could help the team replicate their previous success.

It seems extremely unlikely at this point, but because the Spurs could not agree on a contract extension with Kawhi Leonard during last year’s offseason, he will soon become a restricted free agent. San Antonio has begun to transition their offense to Leonard over the past two seasons, so him leaving is a near impossibility.

Manu Ginobili and Danny Green were incredibly inconsistent last year, which was one of the reasons why the Spurs were unable to compete for an NBA title. In the postseason, Ginobili and Green struggled mightily. Ginobili notched an abysmal mark of 34.9 percent from the field, while Green was even worse at 34.4 percent. Ginobili will consider retirement this offseason, and Green will have many suitors during the upcoming free agency period.

Marc Gasol is a big-name free agent who has been thrown around in conversation about possibly joining the Spurs this offseason. Gasol’s skills would fit perfectly into the Spurs' team-oriented offensive philosophy, which is predicated on ball movement and spacing. Additionally, Gasol's defense would only improve an already elite defensive squad.

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, LaMarcus Aldridge has the Spurs atop his list of free agency destinations. Aldridge, who is well into his prime, would help San Antonio limit the minutes of several aging frontcourt veterans. Furthermore, Aldridge would provide the Spurs with a superior jump-shooting big man, taking some of the offensive pressure off of Leonard.

At 39 years old, Duncan will once again consider the option of retiring this offseason and is currently not signed for next year. However, after coming off an All-Star selection, it seems unlikely that Duncan will end his playing career at this time. During the past season, Duncan tallied impressive numbers for the Spurs, averaging 13.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while shooting over 51 percent from the field.

Clippers' Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan Execute Monstrous Alley-Oop

The Los Angeles Clippers made a huge statement on Thursday night by pulverizing the San Antonio Spurs by 19 points. Sure, the Spurs were without Kawhi Leonard, but that doesn't take away from what Doc Rivers' bunch accomplished. In the fourth quarter, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan hooked up for what can only be described as a monstrous alley-oop, which was the cherry on top of an all-around phenomenal showing.
