Bursting onto the scene a year ago with a 30-7 record and the ACC championship, the Virginia Cavaliers won't be sneaking up on anyone this season. Picked in the top 10 in all major preseason polls, UVA is likely headed for another banner year. Here are predictions on who will lead the Cavaliers in each major statistical category.

Tobey has struggled at UVA in really asserting his presence down on the low block, but with defensive stalwart Akil Mitchell gone, Tobey has to step up and be a giant inside. This is true both offensively and defensively, but on a team that often blocked shots to start major runs last year, it now falls to Tobey to lead the way defensively in protecting the rim.

Perrantes got a run last year as a freshman for his 3-point shooting, and the calm and effective way in which he ran Virginia's offense. Perhaps overlooked was the fact Perrantes also had 33 steals last season, almost one per game. That number should only improve this season now that the more experienced Perrantes has a year under his belt playing defense at ACC speed.

Virginia is far from a one-man team, but Perrantes is going need to have a big impact at both ends of the floor for Virginia's potential success this season. His assist-to-turnover ratio as a freshman a year ago was a healthy 3.5:1. His closest competition in this category will be Malcolm Brogdon, who likely will see some double-teams and claim assists when he passes out of them.

While Tobey (6-foot-11) and freshman Jack Salt (6-foot-10) may represent Virginia's height, Gill is perhaps the hardest worker on the team and that is going to manifest itself when he leads the Cavaliers in rebounding this season. Gill came on late last year to become a key factor in UVA's postseason run that included five straight wins before a two-point loss to Michigan State in the Sweet 16. Gill has the size (6-foot-8) to work the boards.

Brogdon wasn't the ACC's leading scorer last season, but he was the most consistent. Brogdon notched double-digits in points in all 18 conference games, leading UVA to a 16-2 record. Adept at mid-range jumpers, Brogdon's game this season will probably look much like Joe Harris' in the past. Brogdon is also a big asset for Virginia in crunch time, given he shot nearly 88 percent from the line last season.
