In a report by Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said Prince Amukamara is expected to be out at least three more weeks.

“I don’t know what the original time frame was,” Coughlin said. “Prince is not ready to go, he’s not going to be for a while, and we’re not going to mess around here. Until he’s ready to go, I really don’t ask about him every day, as you could probably tell. I don’t know much about that because, to me, it’s off somewhere in the distance.

While I watch him and I see what you see, and I see his reaction to the work, it’s very slow, as you would imagine, but it’s gradual. And we’re making progress. There’s no setback.”

This is unsettling news because the Giants first round pick broke his foot on August 6, and the Giants said he was working in an 8-10 week time frame.

Eight weeks puts him back tomorrow, so it looks like they were a bit optimistic in their prediction. The Giants have been playing well defensively over the past two weeks, but they still need help at corner.
