Throwback jerseys can be pretty cool to see on a team. It is a nice change of pace from the normal home and road jerseys. There are even times where a throwback can be pleasing to the eye.
Here are the five best throwbacks to be worn in 2014.
Like the Denver Broncos, the St. Louis Rams have a retro style jersey from their days in Los Angeles and before the logo change. The vibrant yellow and blue with the ram horn logo on the helmet is what makes this throwback stand out over all others. It's a good choice to go old school here.
Another team that went back to their old drawing board for this throwback, the Falcons sport a black jersey with a red helmet. They even reverted to the old logo from when the franchise first started. Watching the current players in these uniforms can bring Falcons fans back to the mid 1960s.
The Cowboys do not often wear their retro styled throwback except for some Thanksgiving games and special events, but this throwback is as rad as you can get. Mixing the blue and white was a good choice, and adding the retro star to both shoulder pads and the helmet really make this one. This is a simple design made to please fans.
Fans from the early days remember the San Diego Chargers with the powder blue, white and yellow. The Chargers brought it back in 2009 and got such positive feedback from it that they decided to incorporate it for all three jersey designs. But the throwbacks with the light blue and the bolt on the helmet with the number under it stands out. Chargers fans asked and they received in a big way thanks to these throwbacks.
Looking at the current design, the helmet looks boring and the jersey was okay. When this throwback from the Boston Patriots days came back, it was heaven. The mix of red, white and blue certainly helps because of the flag colors of the United States. A Patriots team in these throwbacks resembles patriotism in the best way possible.
