Houston Texans vs. Dallas Cowboys: Predicting The Final Score

Raise your hand if you thought the Houston Texans would be 3-1 through the first four games of the NFL season. Now, raise your other hand if you thought the Dallas Cowboys would begin the year at 3-1 as well. If you have both hands raised at this point, you’re not being honest with yourself.

The Cowboys are arguably the most surprising team this season thus far. They were supposed to have one of the worst defenses of all time, and an aging quarterback who would not be able to perform after coming off a serious back injury. However, Dallas has excelled through four weeks as they find themselves tied for the NFC East Division lead. Tony Romo has been more of a game manager over the past three games, and Demarco Murray has played like the best running back in the NFL.

If the Cowboys’ defense can maintain their solid play, this will be a team to be reckoned with throughout the entire season.

Houston is off to a somewhat surprising start as well. New coach Bill O’Brien clearly knows how to manage a football team and he has gotten enough offense so far in 2014. The defense is back to what it was two seasons ago, giving the Texans a great chance to earn a playoff spot or even take down the AFC South Division title.

DeAndre Hopkins has broken out, which makes life much easier for veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. If Arian Foster is able to get 100 percent healthy, Houston will be a team nobody wants to play.

Final prediction: Dallas needs to prove they are a consistent team, and since it is still October, I’ll take Romo and the Cowboys, 27-23.
