This Sunday’s matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks will be the NFL’s premier game of the week. It pits America’s Team which is back on the rise against the defending Super Bowl champions and their infamous 12th man. Between Richard Sherman’s mouth and Tony Romo’s gunslinger attitude there will be plenty to keep an eye on in this game, but here are five bold predictions that I think will be key to the game’s final outcome.

5. Richard Sherman Will Have at Least 4 Passes Completed on Him

Teams rarely throw to Sherman’s side, but Tony Romo has so much confidence in himself and in his talented receivers (Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams) that he will throw the ball their way regardless of who is covering them.

4. Marshawn Lynch Will Not Go Into Beast Mode

While the Cowboys’ defense was atrocious last year, they have made a concerted effort this season to stop the run by having as many men around the ball as possible. It wasn’t until Arian Foster’s big day last week that a running back had any success against their front, so they will try and keep the focus there while attempting to make Russell Wilson beat them with his arm.

3. Percy Harvin Will Have a Big Day

While the Cowboys’ play at linebacker has improved, they still do not have anyone who can match the speed and skill of Harvin. With the defense putting its focus on Lynch, Seattle will utilize their short passing game to Harvin to aid their running attack. And look out for the double move when the corners begin to creep up as they will try and hit Harvin for a big play deep.

2. DeMarco Murray Will Go Into Beast Mode

It’s next to impossible to have a big day on the ground against Seattle’s front seven, especially when they are playing at home. But the Cowboys’ investment in their offensive line with three first-round picks has paid immediate dividends, and Murray has been able to eclipse 100 yards in every game this season which includes games against the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams’ defensive fronts.

I know that Vegas is expecting Seattle to win this game by almost double digits, but they aren’t factoring in the Cowboys’ flare for the dramatic. It doesn’t matter how much of a difference in talent exists between the two teams; they always find a way to make the games come down to the final play when they face off in the Great Northwest.
