Week 9 Matchup: New Orleans Saints (3-4) vs. Carolina Panthers (3-4-1)
TV Schedule: Thursday, Oct. 30, 8:25 p.m. ET, NFL
Stadium: Bank of America Stadium
Line: New Orleans (-3)
The New Orleans Saints proved how good of a home team they really are by knocking off a hot Green Bay Packers team in Week 8. The Carolina Panthers weren’t so lucky at home, as they lost to the Seattle Seahawks.
The Saints need to find their mojo on the road. It is no fluke that they were able to beat the Packers by the score of 44-23. For whatever reason, this team just seems to play better at home. After all, the team has yet to win a game on the road, and has won every single one at the Superdome this year.
As for Carolina, it could really use a win right about now. The team has now lost two in a row. Before that two-game losing streak, the Panthers tied. They have yet to win a game since the beginning of October, yet they are still basically tied with the Saints at the top of the division, which makes this game all that more important.
The winner of this one will have the lead in the division, and will more than likely have some increased motivation going forward. For New Orleans, it needs to prove, once again, that it can compete on the road. For Carolina, it needs to prove that it can simply win again, which it clearly can.
In the end, I like the Saints. After all, they are coming off a very impressive performance, one that saw a balanced attack from the passing and running game.
PREDICTION: Saints 33, Panthers 23
