2014 NFL Picks: Week 10 vs. the Spread
Getty Images
Each team has officially played eight games this season, and we’re officially at the halfway point of the 2014 NFL regular season. It’s been another unpredictable year filled with stunning upsets, disappointing teams, and surprises that came out of nowhere. Week 10 begins this Thursday with Cleveland taking on Cincinnati. Here are my picks against the spread for each of the 13 games, including my straight up picks.
Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)

Pick Straight Up: Cincinnati
Pick ATS: Cincinnati
The Bengals have still not lost at home for a year and half, and as inconsistent as Brian Hoyer has been, he and his limited offensive weapons won't be enough to slow down Andy Dalton and the Bengals.
Score: Cincinnati 31, Cleveland 17
Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Pick'em)

Pick Straight Up: Tampa Bay
Pick ATS: Tampa Bay
Both the Falcons and Buccaneers have been terrible this season, with the Falcons losing all of their road games and the Bucs losing all of their home games. In a game that someone has to win, Tampa Bay will do just enough to earn their second win of the season.
Score: Tampa Bay 17, Atlanta 14
Pittsburgh Steelers (-4.5) @ New York Jets

Pick Straight Up: Pittsburgh
Pick ATS: Pittsburgh
Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 12 touchdowns in the past two weeks, while the Jets' secondary has been one of the league's worst. After this game is over, the Jets will lose their ninth straight game. Depending on how ugly this game is, Rex Ryan could very well be fighting for his job.
Score: Pittsburgh 34, New York Jets 14
San Francisco 49ers @ New Orleans Saints (-4.5)

San Francisco 49ers @ New Orleans Saints (-4.5)

Pick Straight Up: New Orleans
Pick ATS: San Francisco
The 49ers and Saints are headed in opposite directions. San Francisco just lost to the St. Louis Rams at home, and their offense can't do anything right. New Orleans has won two in a row, and their offense is getting back on track. Just like last year's game, San Francisco will cover, but New Orleans wins at home.
Score: New Orleans 27, San Francisco 24
Dallas Cowboys (-6.5) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (In London)

Pick Straight Up: Dallas
Pick ATS: Dallas
Regardless of who starts at quarterback, the Dallas Cowboys are better at all three phases than Jacksonville. Gus Bradley may have his team playing hard week in and week out, but the only thing that really matters is winning. The Cowboys' defense, after struggling the past two weeks, will get back on track.
Score: Dallas 28, Jacksonville 14
Miami Dolphins @ Detroit Lions (-2.5)

Pick Straight Up: Miami
Pick ATS: Miami
Each week, I keep waiting to see when the Lions will start to collapse, and could very well be this week against Miami. The Dolphins are on a three-game winning streak and their defense just dominated a very good San Diego team. With or without Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush, the Lions will struggle offensively.
Score: Miami 23, Detroit 10
Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5) @ Buffalo Bills

Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5) @ Buffalo Bills

Pick Straight Up: Kansas City
Pick ATS: Kansas City
Both Buffalo and Kansas City have been impressive this season, especially the Bills, who are without their top two running backs in C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. That being said, the Chiefs are on a roll right now, and Jamaal Charles will dominate the Buffalo defense.
Score: Kansas City 27, Buffalo 17
Tennessee Titans @ Baltimore Ravens (-10)

Pick Straight Up: Baltimore
Pick ATS: Tennessee
The Ravens are a vulnerable team heading into their game against the Tennessee Titans. Baltimore's normally stout defense was torched for six touchdowns last week by Ben Roethlisberger, and have lost two consecutive division games. The Titans are 2-6, but have nothing to lose with rookie QB Zach Mettenberger. Tennessee covers, but Baltimore wins.
Score: Baltimore 24, Tennessee 16
Denver Broncos (-11) @ Oakland Raiders

Pick Straight Up: Denver
Pick ATS: Denver
The Raiders are getting closer and closer to winning their first game, but face a daunting task against a Denver team that will surely be angry after their loss to New England. Peyton Manning will easily carve up the Oakland defense, and the Broncos get back on a track with a huge win over their division rivals.
Score: Denver 38, Oakland 17
St. Louis Rams @ Arizona Cardinals (-7)

Pick Straight Up: Arizona
Pick ATS: St. Louis
The Cardinals are playing like the NFL's best team since losing to Denver, but as we saw last week, St. Louis can hang tough with any team in the league. The Rams won't have enough firepower on offense to win, but their defense will be good enough to cover against the one-loss Cardinals.
Score: Arizona 21, St. Louis 17
New York Giants @ Seattle Seahawks (-10)

Pick Straight Up: Seattle
Pick ATS: New York Giants
The Seattle Seahawks have looked less than impressive this season, while the New York Giants are perhaps the most inconsistent team in the NFL. Given how Seattle has struggled recently, especially at home, the Giants can do enough to cover, but eventually come up short.
Score: Seattle 24- New York Giants 20
Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers (-7.5)

Pick Straight Up: Green Bay
Pick ATS: Green Bay
The Chicago Bears are in flux right now, with rumors surrounding Marc Treastman's job and Jay Cutler's leadership. Despite a bad day at the office against New Orleans, the Packers should easily get back on track this week and blowout their embattled division rivals.
Score: Green Bay 35, Chicago 20
Carolina Panthers @ Philadelphia Eagles (-6)

Carolina Panthers @ Philadelphia Eagles (-6)

Pick Straight Up: Philadelphia
Pick ATS: Philadelphia
Even with Nick Foles sidelined for several weeks, Mark Sanchez should have a field day against Carolina's weak secondary. Also expect a big game from the Eagles' defense as they face an erratic Cam Newton. After Monday Night, the Eagles will be 5-0 at home.
Score: Philadelphia 27, Carolina 13
