10 weeks of the 2014 NFL have come and gone, giving us a pretty good sample size to draw some conclusions. Some teams, like the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns, have already exceeded expectations; others, like the ones you’ll find on this list, have face planted since Opening Day. Here are the five most disappointing teams of the 2014 NFL season.

Whether or not Jimmy Graham pushed off on that Hail Mary, it doesn’t matter: the Saints are deep in the month of November with a losing record. Luckily, the Saints play in the NFC South, the laughingstock of the NFL’s eight divisions, so the playoffs are still within reach. If they were in any other division, the Saints would definitely be higher on this list.

Remember in Week 17 last year, when Rex Ryan was hooting and hollering after the Jets edged the Dolphins, pushing Gang Green to 8-8 on the year and instilling renewed hope in the fanbase? Well, the 2014 Jets would have to win out in order to match last year’s record. Yes, the upset win over the Steelers is encouraging, but it only proves that the Jets should’ve ditched Geno Smith sooner.

The Giants surrendered a staggering 314 yards on the ground to the Seahawks on Sunday. To really show how bad Big Blue’s front seven has defended the run, check this out: the Giants rank dead-last in yards allowed per carry, 5.0, which is 0.2 more than any other team. Things don’t get any easier in the next two weeks, as they play two of the top 10 rushing teams, San Francisco and (gasp) Dallas.

3-6-1 isn’t where the defending NFC South champs expected to be at this point. Cam Newton looked like the old Mark Sanchez on Monday night, throwing three bad interceptions, but you can hardly blame him because of that atrocious offensive line that allowed nine sacks. Kelvin Benjamin might be the only bright spot over the Panthers’ first 10 games in 2014.

On Sunday night, the Bears broke a record that many people didn’t think would ever be touched. One week after allowed 51 points to the Patriots, Chicago surrendered 55 big ones to the Packers on prime time, becoming the first team since the 1923 Rochester Jeffersons to allow 50 points in consecutive games. You would be hard-pressed to find a franchise outside of Oakland that is in more disarray right now.
