Saturday NFL Wild Cards To Feature Perfect Football Weather

Perfect football playoff weather means about as sloppy as it can get. Snow is always preferable. Pouring rain will suffice. Both NFL Wild Card games on Saturday will fall in the latter, which should have football fans around the world excited for what is sure to be two great contests between quality teams.

As of right now, there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms at kickoff in Charlotte, NC, which is where the NFC Wild Card between the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals will be played. The chances for heavy rain will only increase as the game goes on. Even though the temperature will remain in the low-50s, it is nearly guaranteed the field will turn into a mudfest.

If the field gets really sloppy, one can only assume the Panthers will be the team that benefits from the poor weather. The reason for that is because they are the far more dominant running team. Not to mention, the Cardinals play half of their games indoors in the desert.

The second NFL playoff game will have even worse weather, which is perfect for two AFC North powerhouses. The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will enjoy 100 percent chance of rain. Despite it not being cold enough to snow (I know, huge let down), Heinz Field is going to get absolutely drenched. When thinking of the Ravens and Steelers, a blizzard is the only better outcome weather-wise than what will be experienced in the AFC Wild Card.

It is hard to say who will benefit from the downpour, especially since both teams have their fair share of experience playing in poor weather. The Ravens run the ball better, but both teams have been outstanding against rushing attacks. A solid assumption is the Steelers will have the advantage only because it will be on their home field.
