The New York Jets have plenty of needs heading into this year's draft. The good news is that they have the opportunity to get a really good player with the sixth overall pick. Of course, their selection will depend on who gets taken before their pick, but here are five players they should target in the first round.

Vic Beasley is one of the best athletes in the draft. He should be able to step in and contribute on any team from day one. Beasley will be perfect in the 3-4 defense as an edge rusher. He is also capable of dropping into coverage and has good hands.

4. Shane Ray, DE, Missouri

Shane Ray is one of the best pass rushers in this year's draft class. Todd Bowles is all about putting pressure on the quarterback which means Ray has to be under consideration for the Jets at No. 6. Some people are concerned about his lack of length, but Ray makes up for that with the energy that he plays with.

3. Dante Fowler Jr., OLB/DE, Florida

Continuing with the edge rusher trend, Dante Fowler Jr. would make a lot of sense for the Jets in the first round. Fowler is a little bigger than the previous two guys and also might be more versatile than Ray and Beasley. Fowler played multiple positions in college. He should fit in nicely as a strong-side linebacker in a 3-4 in the pros.

2. Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama

Switching it up from pass rushers, the Jets also have several needs on offense. Trading for Brandon Marshall should help their passing game this year, but he has shown that he is only a short-term fix. Amari Cooper will be very tempting for the Jets if he is still on the board. He does everything you would want a top level receiver to do. It would give whoever the Jets' quarterback is a nice trio of Marshall, Cooper and Eric Decker.

The big question of draft night will be where Marcus Mariota ends up. If he falls to the Jets at No. 6, then they have to strongly consider taking him. Geno Smith hasn't shown much in the way of being a legitimate franchise quarterback, and Mariota's talent might be too much to pass up on.
