5 Teams That Could Trade For Miami Dolphins' Dion Jordan

The Miami Dolphins drafted DE/OLB Dion Jordan out of Oregon with the third overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Jordan seemed to be the perfect fit to play a 3-4 outside linebacker in the Dolphins' system. He possessed the size, speed, and athleticism necessary to be a dominant force in this league, but for some reason he hasn't quite figured it out. He is still only 25 years old and it's possible all that he needs is a change of scenery.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach, Chip Kelly, previously held the same position at the University of Oregon and coached Jordan while he was in college. Obviously, this landing spot would make the most sense for all parties involved. Kelly knows how to get the best out of Jordan, and Jordan would probably feel more comfortable playing for a coach that he's familiar with.

The Green Bay Packers could trade for Jordan, and have Julius Peppers take him under his wing. Peppers would be the perfect mentor for Jordan, and then when Peppers retires, Jordan would be ready to replace him. The only thing holding Jordan back from being the player everyone thinks he can be is learning how to be a professional. He needs to know how to handle himself on and off the field, and Peppers would be the guy to show him.

The Indianapolis Colts season ended last year one game away from the Super Bowl. The Colts are a couple additions away from being the favorites for the upcoming season. One of their biggest weaknesses last season was their inability to get to the quarterback. If the Colts were able to work out a deal to bring in Jordan, he could be the final piece to the puzzle to deliver the Vince Lombardi trophy to the city of Indianapolis.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled at rushing the quarterback for a few years now. It got so bad last season that they coaxed James Harrison out of retirement to try and give them a spark. Harrison decided to come back for another year, and he could be a great teacher for Jordan. Spending a year under the tutelage of one of the greatest Steelers players of all-time would serve Jordan well, and give the team a young talented edge rusher.

Although I think this would be one of the worst possible fits for Jordan, it does make sense. The Redskins lost Brian Orakpo in free agency, and they need another pass rusher opposite of star Ryan Kerrigan. The problem with Jordan potentially being a Redskin is that their organization is more of a circus than the Dolphins. The infrastructure surrounding him in D.C. could make things worse.
