San Francisco 49ers Win Big in Round 1 of 2017 NFL Draft – Chicago Bears Biggest Losers

By Anthony Blake

It’s hard to argue with the heist the San Francisco 49ers pulled off in Round 1 of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Moving down just one spot in a trade with the Chicago Bears, the Niners managed to fleece third and fourth-round picks this season from Chicago and a third-round pick in 2018.

Oh, and they also landed arguably the best player in this entire draft class at No. 3 in Stanford defensive lineman Solomon Thomas.

Plus, the deal gave them the ammunition to trade back up into the end of Round 1 and get a top-10 talent in linebacker Reuben Foster to further solidify the defense.

And obviously, the Bears represent the loser end of this spectrum by forfeiting multiple valuable picks to trade up one spot for a player they don’t even intend on playing in the upcoming season.

Mitchell Trubisky will likely learn from the sidelines in 2017 as offseason investment Mike Glennon takes snaps in Chicago.

The Niners are off to a great start while the Bears are, well, not.
