Kobe Bryant Tells Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski to Play for the Philadelphia Eagles
In 2011, Eagles tight end Brent Celek revived his NFL career by catching 62 passes for 811 yards and five touchdowns, ranking him among the top ten fantasy tight ends this season.
But apparently his career turnaround wasn’t enough for Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant.
According to a report from WEEI.com in Boston, Bryant spotted New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski sitting courtside at a Lakers game.
“I told him the Eagles need a tight end,” joked Bryant, who grew up in Philadelphia and remains an Eagles fan. “I’m recruiting. He’s a freak athlete. He shouted at me and I shouted back. It’s fun to have those conversations with athletes you respect.”
By the way, the chance of Gronkowski joining the Eagles next season is approximately the same chance that Michael Jordan will lead the Buffalo Sabres to the 2012 World Series.
