What Philadelphia Flyers Fans Want Trade Deadline
With the NHL Trade Deadline coming up next month, I asked Philadelphia Flyers fans what they wanted at the deadline. Here is some response from fans on the Flyers Official Facebook Page.
Brian P.: One word-DEFENSE
Flyer Forlife: It’s not just any D-man tho. We need a guy who can clear our crease and can quarterback our power play. We are talking a big money guy, here. I don’t want some guy to full in. We need a legit top 4 Dman.
Matthew C: To get a quality D-man, they’re gonna need to shop a rookie. Just sayin’.
Shawn M: Package JVR (James van Riemsdyk) with (Sergei) Bobrovsky to obtain a high end D-man. I understand people don’t want to trade Bobrovsky but if that is what it takes to get a highly motivated, highly skilled D-man, then do it. Plus the money we dump now will enable the team to re-sign another D-man in the off-season as JVR is slated to make an undeserving 4.25M per year over the next 6 years.
Jakari J: Trading (Scott) Hartnell makes sense right now. I know he has a no trade clause but that doesn’t mean it will not happen. Hartnell’s numbers are inflated right now and looks good in the box score. He has value right now.
This I think is a sentiment that rings throughout Flyers Nation. Honestly, Philadelphia cannot win a seven game series against the New York Rangers or the Boston Bruins.
Philly need to make a strong push for a defenseman, but fans need to know it will take a big contract to make this happen.

i doubt we can package Bryz. and depends on JVR if he comes back
