Jason Bridge - US PRESSWIRE

Both Dan Bylsma and Marc-Andre Fleury had phenominal seasons for the Pittsburgh Penguins last year. So it’s understandable that it was a difficult task to choose which one’s accomplishments outshined the other’s especially when one is a coach and the other is a player.  Among their accomplishments, Bylsma earned the 2011 Jack Adams Award as the league’s coach of the year and Fleury was named the Penguin’s 2011 MVP.

That’s why it’s appropriate that both of them have been named as co-winners of the 2011 Dapper Dan award.  Although voting has ended and the co-winners have been announced, they will not officially be presented with the award until Monday, March 12, 2012 at the 76th Annual Dapper Dan banquet and silent sports auction to be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.

In the meantime, they will both need to work on speeches - maybe.  According to PittsburghPenguins.com,

“I’m looking forward to the night, but not talking,” he [Fleury] said. “Dan’s really good at talking though so I’ll just hand him the mic.”

“I’m not totally going to let him do that,” Bylsma joked. “But I do think I’ll have a little fun with Marc-Andre up there. Maybe a little French/English we’ll do up there.”

Congratulations to Coach Dan Bylsma and Marc-Andre Fleury.  The honor is well-deserved.
