WWE Raw Predictions (10/6): Roman Reigns’ Injury Up For Discussion

It was recently revealed that Roman Reigns will be appearing live and in person on Raw tonight to talk about his injury. While it will be good to see him, I think him addressing the ailment at all is a mistake and will take away from when he officially makes his return. The same can be said of Daniel Bryan, and it’d be smarter to just leave him off of TV until he’s ready to compete again.

This is going to be a pretty significant moment on Rawbut by no means is it the biggest. That said, I do wonder if we will see the beginnings of a feud for when Reigns does return to action, with Bray Wyatt calling him out on not being strong enough.

Speaking of the leader of The Wyatt Family — or the former leader — we’ll hopefully get a little more info on what’s being done with Luke Harper and Erik Rowan, along with Bray himself. It’s strange to think that because over their first year on the main roster, the Wyatt Family saw so much success and became a focal point for the WWE and its future. While Rowan hasn’t exactly proved to be a great wrestler, his size and teaming with Harper was a great combination.

With last week’s promo showing off what seems to be Harper’s release from Bray’s grasp, concerns are raised as to what is going to be done moving forward. Bray’s big thing was his ability to gain followers and wax poetic; while he’s still more than capable of his wise/mysterious use of words, it appears that his leadership abilities are waning. If Harper splits off completely, Rowan won’t be around much longer, which leaves The Wyatt Family with only its patriarch.

Is it possible for the WWE to move someone up to join Bray or to convert a main roster talent to his cause? Perhaps we’ll get a taste of that tonight or in the coming weeks.

The rivalry with Paige and AJ has been getting attention, but it has mostly been shoved aside for the guys. I don’t expect a big scene between the two, but I do anticipate a little more from the Divas tonight, like The Bellas solidifying the chances for an upcoming PPV match and the aforementioned duo ramping things up between themselves, even if it means seeing Alicia Fox again.

Hell In A Cell is only three weeks away, and we still don’t have a single match officially set up for it. Whether that means we’ll begin seeing matches announced tonight or next week, I’m not entirely sure, but it desperately needs to start happening soon.

I think it’s clear that everyone wants to see Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins go at one another in the cell, but what would that mean for John Cena? There have been rumors saying we may see a similar setup to WrestleMania XXX, with an Ambrose-Cena PPV opener setting up the winner for a showdown vs. Rollins in a cell for the main event. If Cena loses, would he be done for the night, or could he he finagle his way into another match with Randy Orton?

Maybe we are going to see Orton finally tire of The Authority‘s garbage, leading to him and Kane having a match at HIAC. I think the cracks will start showing tonight.

Speaking of Ambrose, I think this month is Ambrose awareness month. I’m honestly expecting every Monday night to heavily feature The Lunatic Fringe, building up the character more and capitalizing on his sudden popularity boom. While the WWE may have favorites it wants to build, when the crowd creates a star, the company typically rolls with it until the crowd gives up on them. There’s a reason why Stone Cold Steve Austin was so popular, why CM Punk and Bryan both became champions, and why The Rock is one of the most beloved ever: The fans made them, the not WWE.

Ambrose is only going to get bigger and get closer to becoming the champ, and we’re seeing that journey each week this month.
