Report: San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith Arrested in Miami Beach For DUI
Aldon Smith had one of the best rookie seasons in 2011 after recording 14 sacks during the regular season and helping the San Francisco 49ers emerge as one of the top defenses in the NFL. Unfortunately, the former Missouri standout came up just short of Super Bowl XLVI after losing to the New York Giants in the NFC Championship, but that appears to be the least of the rookie’s concerns now that he has to deal with DUI charges.
According to KTVU in Oakland, Smith was arrested for DUI in Miami Beach on Friday night. Details from the incident are still emerging, but this is the last thing Smith needs to deal with after a phenomenal rookie season.

Not only did Smith record 14 sacks (fifth in the NFL) during the regular season, but he recorded two during the postseason as well. Obviously, Smith has a bright future ahead of him in San Francisco and it should be interesting to see how the team responds to these charges.
