Gisele rips Patriots wide receivers for drops
Gisele Bundchen gets almost as much attention from the general press as her famous quarterback husband, Tom Brady. On occasion, this attention is warranted, and perhaps even welcomed.
The aftermath of last night’s Super Bowl, however, was not one of these instances.
After leaving the Super Bowl– to the jeers of several New York Giants fans– Gisele lashed out about the poor performance from the New England receivers (which was caught live by cameras from TV’s The Insider:
You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (bleeping) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.
True enough, but she probably should have kept this one to herself. Sure, Wes Welker’s drop in the late 4th quarter was definitely damaging to the Patriots’ attempt at a late comeback, but expressing this opinion publicly was not kosher.
Regardless of last night’s outcome, Tom Brady is still one of the best quarterbacks that the NFL has seen. He has struggled as of late, but it needs to be remembered that he had a stretch of 16 straight completions last night– he was doing his job.
Wide receivers can often determine the outcome of a game through their performance, or lack thereof.
I doubt that Wes Welker needs to be reminded of this.
He obviously is taking it hard enough.
