Photo: Washington Redskins Fans Customize License Plates in Honor of Robert Griffin III

For the sake of Washington Redskins, they better hope the Indianapolis Colts select Andrew Luck with the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft considering how many fans are already acting like Robert Griffin III has been drafted by the organization with the second overall pick. First, there were the crazy Redskins fans creating their own clothing line for RGIII and now–it appears some fans are already customizing their own license plates.

As you can see in the photo above, Redskins fans from the Maryland and Virginia area have already created their own license plates in honor of Griffin. Last month, Washington swapped first-round picks along with a second rounder and two future first rounders with the St. Louis Rams with the intention of selecting Griffin at No. 2 in a few weeks, but nothing is guaranteed until Indianapolis decides on their plans for the first pick.

First off, can you imagine how these fans would feel if the Colts decided at the last second to go with Griffin over Luck and these plates were customized for nothing? It may not be that big of a deal considering these fans can easily get new ones–but it’s still funny to think about what would happen if the Redskins were forced to settle with Luck at No. 2 instead (even though that’s not necessarily a bad thing).

However, all signs point to the Colts sticking with their first instinct all along and taking Luck with the top pick–so these fans will most likely get exactly what they want. Thanks to Bleacher Report for the tip on the story.
